You treated the characters and their story with sincere affection and respect. The novel was well paced, a quick read and artfully arranged. I usually lose focus when a book moves between present and the past events, but your story and its message unfolded seamlessly, the “flashbacks” of Jozef fitting neatly into the present-day narrative focused upon his maturing grandson, Caleb and leading to a poignant denouement. This would make a great movie.
